Intro

During the start of 2020, Nixon Peabody was looking to restart development on an update of their ASP.NET based internal ticketing platform. Its development was previously stalled, leaving several groups within the firm waiting for new functionality and updates they requested. I provided full-stack development services to Nixon Peabody, creating several new features requested by various groups within the firm and updating existing functionality to create a more powerful, more secure platform, allowing multiple groups within the firm to work more efficiently and productively.

Updates and Features

These updates included

  • Updating the front-end from Bootstrap 3 to 4 and migrating to modern CSS tools like Flexbox and CSS Grid
  • Adding a new Email based notifications system, allowing the app to notify users when they need to perform certain tasks
  • Moving several pieces of mission critical functionality from the existing monolithic MVC5 application to a new, more extensible REST API using Web API 2
  • Improving UX for critical functions after consulting users about issues they were experiencing
  • Implementing inter-app communication between several firm apps, significantly reducing time needed to accomplish several common tasks
